In November of 2016, the ITA Group in the Cayman Islands donated children books to the library at the George Town Primary School (GTPS). The ITA Group in Cayman is involved with the Partner Reading program at GTPS, where employees volunteer time, once a week, to read to the students and improve their literacy skills.
As part of our corporate responsibility, for the last two years, ITA has donated books needed by the library. This year the Librarian identified several Roald Dahl titles that was needed for Guided Reading and Whole Class Teaching at GTPS. The books were identified as the following:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
James and the Giant Peach
Fantastic Mr. Fox
ITA was happy to donate 12 copies of each of the books above to the George Town Primary School’s library.
Susan and I visited the school today to deliver the books to the school library. Susan took the opportunity to read a chapter of The BFG to the students. I can tell you, I have never seen students so excited to see these books. I think the fact that they were Roald Dahl’s books made them a big hit with the students! – ITA Volunteer in the Cayman Islands.
