On Sunday, Nov. 29, Investors Trust employees gathered at 6 a.m. for a special race and all day event. We are proud to have a team of employees from our Kuala Lumpur office participate in the Lions Charity Balloon Run 2015 for a 12km race benefiting the local community and special needs population.
Lions Charity Balloon Run is a charity-driven, fun and interactive event that aims to promote a quality life and inclusiveness for all in the community. They do this by incorporating health, family, wealth and the local community as well as promoting the awareness of children with special needs. Investors Trust contributed MYR10,000 as a Silver Sponsor for the event. ITA was given a booth for the event which was donated to a charity where they sold handcraft goods and food items and 100% of the proceeds went to the Lions Charity Fund. The money raised from the event goes to support the Lions Education Fund, Lions Eye Clinic, Lions Renal Centre and the Lions Prosthetics Fund.
The Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Haji Muhammad Amin Nordin, was in attendance and flagged off each race segment of the event. The Mayor also contributed to the planting of half a dozen trees around the lake where the run took place to commemorate the event.
The Investors Trust team was represented by four runners. One of our runners, and the only girl, Pei Joon, finished in fourth place for the 12km ladies open run with a time of 1 hour and 3 minutes. Congratulations to Pei Joon! We are pleased to support a good cause while also promoting our commitment to healthy living and helping others.
Thank you for joining our ITA Cares team for this event!
A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who participated. We greatly appreciate your willingness to wake up early on your day off to run/walk for an important cause.
