ITA team runs in NYC Marathon

In participation with the American Cancer Society (ACS), members from Investors Trust participated in the world’s largest marathon. On Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, the Investors Trust runners joined the ACS DetermiNation team for a 26.2-mile race around New York City.

The Investors Trust Cares group ran under the name of Team Supreme Leader. This team of nine runners raised USD$23,264.20 for the American Cancer Society, making it the third highest fundraising team in the DetermiNation program. By joining the ACS DetermiNation team, these dedicated individuals not only achieved a great personal victory but, with each step they took, they helped improve the lives of someone affected by cancer.

The American Cancer Society DetermiNation program began in 1996, and expanded throughout the nation in 2007. This program guides individuals to achieve their goals and conquer what might seem impossible while being a part of a bigger mission to change the course of cancer. With this participation, not only are members helping save lives but they are also introduced to a community of support. The member benefits include free team training, online fundraising tools, mentor support from coaches and team members, along with the opportunity to dedicate individual efforts in honor of or in memory of someone affected by cancer.

By joining the DetermiNation team, Investors Trust established a commitment to support the fight against cancer. All of the money raised by Team Supreme Leader helps people stay well, helps people get well, helps find cures and helps fight back.
