World Health Day 2016


World Health Day was established to raise awareness on current world health concerns. This year’s theme is Beat Diabetes! With wide-spread cases of the common disease, this World Health Day is a time to recognize the risks and apply simple changes that can eliminate concerns of developing diabetes. 422 million 1.5 million 90%
About 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, a number likely to more than double in the next 20 years. In 2012, diabetes was the direct cause of 1.5 million deaths. More than 80% of diabetes deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. Type 2 accounts for around 90% of all diabetes worldwide. Reports of type 2 diabetes in children have increased worldwide.
