Stephen M. Christopher
Stephen M. Christopher has been a director of Investors Trust Assurance SPC since September 2010. Mr. Christopher is a recognized leader in the financial services industry with 30+ years experience and is known for enabling companies to compete in complex and highly competitive financial service environments. He has successfully guided multiple corporations through highly complex consolidations, integrations, merger activities and new company launches.
As CEO and President of multiple businesses including ING Life Group (all life businesses in the United States), Security Life Insurance Company (Denver, Colorado), and Southland Life Insurance Company (Atlanta, Georgia), Mr. Christopher led the strategic consolidation of multiple free standing companies, in addition to, the turnaround and launch of several others. These activities occurred during turbulent industry downturns, yet resulted in record industry financial results, growth, and client relationships. His strategic alignment of companies through the assessment of structure, products, market position, distribution channels, financials, client operations and image has achieved wide industry recognition. His extensive marketing background has resulted in product design and delivery methodology impacting the financial services markets.
Mr. Christopher’s board experience has been diverse, including culture, the arts, financial, and charitable organizations. He served on the Governing Boards of the Colorado Symphony and the Denver Botanical Gardens and has led corporate-giving initiatives impacting multiple non-profits and charitable organizations across the country. He is currently serving as a board member for the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center at Nokuse Plantation.
Dara Keogh is a Director of Investors Trust Assurance SPC. Mr. Keogh has 20 years of finance, accounting, audit and advisory experience. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 following his apprentice/training with Ernst & Young in Ireland and spent much of his professional career within the insurance sector, both in industry and in professional practice. In January 2017, Mr. Keogh acquired a significant interest in Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands and joined the firm as Co-Managing Partner. Prior to that he was the CFO of a start-up reinsurance company and has prior extensive experience in serving as an Audit Partner and Head of Insurance and Banking with KPMG. Mr. Keogh was involved with publishing various magazines and information booklets about the insurance industry in the Cayman Islands. He presented on numerous topics, including technical accounting, strategic and industry topics at industry forums and to members of the Insurance Managers Association in Cayman (IMAC), the Cayman Islands Banking Association (CIBA), the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and various other industry groups.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Keogh gained valuable experience working as a Corporate Risk Manager within the Internal Audit department of Scottish Life PLC when it was acquired by Royal London. He worked as an Account Executive with Kensington Management Group, a Cayman Islands based captive reinsurance management company, where he was responsible for managing two of the world’s top 10 group captive reinsurance companies. Mr. Keogh has mainly worked with companies operating in re/insurance, banking and the financial services industries in the Cayman Islands and across the Caribbean. His experience includes audit, accounting and financial reporting on both IFRS and GAAP basis, risk management, governance, capital modeling and other advisory services.
Bryan Murphy is a resident of the Cayman Islands and has been a director of Investors Trust Assurance SPC since September 2009. Mr. Murphy also currently serves as a director of several insurance organizations, including Greenlight Capital Re, Ltd., a Cayman Islands-based open market property and casualty reinsurance company listed on the NASDAQ (GLRE).
From 1996 until his retirement in December 2007, Mr. Murphy served Island Heritage Holdings Ltd., a Cayman Islands-based property, liability and automobile insurer, as a founding director and chief executive officer. Prior to Island Heritage, Mr. Murphy acted as a consultant to Trident Partnership from 1994 to 1996 and was employed by International Risk Management Group from 1978 to 1994. Mr. Murphy has over 30 years experience in the insurance business and has held senior positions in several countries, including the Cayman Islands, Ireland, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Murphy holds a degree in economics and mathematics from University College, Dublin, Ireland.
