A.M. Best Assigns Ratings
to Investors Trust Assurance SPC
Ratings reflect A.M. Best’s opinion that Investors Trust is well capitalized
GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS, October 5th, 2009 - Investors Trust Assurance SPC (“Investors Trust”) today announced that A.M. Best Co. has assigned it a financial strength rating of B++ (Good) and issuer credit rating of “bbb+” with the assigned outlook being stable.
A.M. Best’s ratings of Investors Trust consider the company’s profitable operations and the rating agency’s opinion that Investors Trust is well capitalized relative to its net liabilities. The ratings acknowledge Investors Trust’s growing network of independent financial advisors in Latin America and Asia Pacific, its seven-year operating history since inception, management’s prior history of relevant investment and insurance marketing experience and A.M. Best’s opinion that the company’s business plan to steadily grow contract placements is reasonable.
“This rating by A.M. Best reaffirms the strength of our product structure and services because we have an open architecture platform that allows for independent custody of assets, independent asset management and segregation of policyholder assets into individual trusts for the benefit of our policyholders,” said Investors Trust CEO William Zelaya. “Emerging market investors now have a stronger affinity towards Investors Trust products as a major alternative for offshore investment opportunities.”
According to Zelaya, investors buy offshore products because they are more cost effective, tax efficient and flexible than typical onshore product, and they offer clients a way to protect themselves against the risk of political instability and inflation in their home country.
“We are also constantly innovating, investing in technology that allows clients to go online to manage their policies, including the ability to change their underlying allocations instantly,” said Zelaya. “We are one of the few companies in the offshore financial sector that allows policyholders to make such changes online, for which our clients have a greater comfort level in knowing that they are in control of their financial decisions and can access their plans at any time.” Investors Trust also offers its website in Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese, covering most of its policyholders’ primary languages.
