On June 24, 2026, two powerful earthquakes struck north-central Venezuela within 39 seconds of each other, with magnitudes of approximately 7.2 and 7.5 according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquakes, among the strongest to hit the country in more than a century, caused widespread damage near Caracas and the surrounding region. As of July 17, 2026, more than 4,800 people have died and over 16,000 have been injured.

 

In response, Investors Trust donated $20,000 to World Vision, an organization that has supported children and families in Venezuela since 2019. The donation will be matched by World Vision, doubling its impact for communities affected by the disaster. Through its Hope Without Borders program, World Vision has already reached over 49,000 people across La Guaira, Caracas, and Miranda with emergency food, water, hygiene supplies, and child protection support.
